Research

Aside from training, STAR4D also conducts applied research. This research is more than just lab technicians analyzing results. STAR4D research replicates real world situations and uses real equipment and materials in order to produce the most accurate and practical results.

Research had been conducted on topics relating to application processes, how certain coatings react in the real world, and also the most efficient equipment to use. Results from STAR4D research is done in order to assist military facilities with having actual data to make decisions on what type of coating to use, or what appropriate cure times would be.

The most recent research is an ongoing process involving two HMMWV's that were coated with different materials and analyzed to determine the susceptibility to marring. The case study for this research is below (1.5 vs. 1.5 VOC Case Study) along with past projects.
